Welcome, netrunner! The 1990 Web Archive is dedicated to preserving, cataloging, and displaying the earliest pages of the World Wide Web. From the very first CERN info pages to the boom of GeoCities and Angelfire, we capture the digital history before it vanishes forever.

~ WHY ARCHIVE? ~

The early web is fragile. Servers shut down. Domains expire. Dial-up connections were slow, but the creativity was unmatched. We use custom spider bots (running on Perl & C++) to crawl, snapshot, and index pages exactly as they appeared. No modern CSS. No JavaScript. Just pure, unadulterated HTML 2.0 & 3.0 glory.
