About the Role
We're seeking a visionary Research & Science Manager to lead high-impact, cross-disciplinary scientific initiatives within Zenth Advanced Research. In this role, you will bridge fundamental discovery with applied innovation, managing teams of PhD-level scientists and engineers while collaborating with our Energy, Aerospace, and Healthcare divisions to translate breakthrough research into proprietary technologies and commercial products.
This position requires a blend of deep scientific expertise, strategic leadership, and operational excellence. You'll oversee grant funding, drive IP generation, maintain rigorous compliance standards, and foster a culture of rigorous experimentation and intellectual curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute multi-year research roadmaps aligned with Aevum Zenth's strategic technology goals.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a cross-functional team of scientists, postdocs, and lab technicians.
- Secure and manage internal R&D funding, external grants, and strategic partnership investments.
- Oversee experimental design, data integrity, peer review, and publication/patent submission pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to transition validated research into scalable prototypes.
- Maintain strict compliance with ethical research standards, safety protocols, and international regulatory frameworks.
- Present findings to executive leadership, board members, and external scientific advisory councils.
Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or a related advanced scientific field.
- 7+ years of experience in advanced R&D, with at least 3 years in leadership or principal investigator roles.
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications, granted patents, or successfully commercialized research.
- Strong experience in research project management, budgeting, and cross-departmental coordination.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required security clearances and laboratory certifications.
- Proficiency with advanced simulation software, lab information management systems (LIMS), and data analytics platforms.
