This policy outlines our stance on intellectual property (IP), user responsibilities, content licensing, and procedures for reporting infringement.

By accessing, using, or contributing to the EduVerse platform, you agree to comply with all applicable intellectual property laws and the terms outlined in this document.

2. Ownership of Platform Content

All course materials, video lectures, downloadable resources, assessments, proprietary software, interface design, branding, and documentation hosted on EduVerse are the exclusive intellectual property of EduVerse, its contracted instructors, or licensed third-party partners, unless otherwise explicitly stated.

EduVerse retains all rights, title, and interest in the platform's architecture, algorithms, learning management system, and aggregated anonymized data used for educational analytics and service improvement.

3. Copyright & Trademark Protection

Copyright: All original content on EduVerse is protected under international copyright laws. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, modification, or public display of any course material, lecture recording, or written resource is strictly prohibited.

Trademarks: The EduVerse name, logo, taglines, and related branding are registered trademarks. These may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent from EduVerse Legal & Compliance.

4. User-Generated Content & Licensing

EduVerse encourages collaborative learning. When you submit assignments, discussion posts, project files, or peer reviews, you retain ownership of your original work. However, by submitting content to the platform, you grant EduVerse a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, process, and distribute your submissions for the purpose of delivering educational services, providing feedback, and maintaining platform functionality.

EduVerse may anonymize or aggregate user-generated content for pedagogical research, platform improvement, and public educational initiatives. You may request deletion of your submissions at any time via your account settings, subject to legal retention requirements.

5. Third-Party Materials & Fair Use

Some courses incorporate third-party textbooks, open educational resources (OER), APIs, or licensed media. EduVerse ensures all third-party materials are used in compliance with fair use doctrines, Creative Commons licenses, or formal publishing agreements.

Instructors are required to disclose sources and adhere to copyright best practices. If you believe a specific resource violates licensing terms, please report it through the process outlined in Section 7.

6. Prohibited Uses & Enforcement

The following activities violate EduVerse's Intellectual Property Policy and may result in account suspension, permanent termination, or legal action:

• Recording, screenshotting, or downloading course content for redistribution
• Sharing login credentials to enable unauthorized access
• Using automated tools to scrape, extract, or repurpose platform content
• Claiming authorship of EduVerse or instructor materials
• Selling, renting, or monetizing EduVerse content in any form

EduVerse employs digital rights management (DRM), watermarking, and automated content ID systems to detect and prevent unauthorized distribution.

7. DMCA & Copyright Infringement Reporting

If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed upon through its use on the EduVerse platform, you may submit a formal notice in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) or equivalent local legislation.

Your notice must include:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the rights holder or authorized agent
2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
3. Description of the infringing material and its location on the platform
4. Your contact information (email, address, phone)
5. A statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized
6. A statement that the information provided is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner

EduVerse will review all reports promptly and take appropriate action, including removal of infringing content and notification to the responsible user.
