Workplace Conduct & Code of Ethics

This document outlines the standards of behavior, ethical expectations, and professional responsibilities that govern our work environment at That Is A Q.

1. Core Values & Expectations

Expected Behaviors

3. Communication & Collaboration Standards

Clear, professional, and timely communication is essential to our agile workflow and client relationships.

  • Use approved channels (Slack, Email, Project Management Tools) for work-related discussions.
  • Maintain professionalism in all written and verbal communications.
  • Document decisions, action items, and code reviews appropriately.
  • Escalate blockers promptly and collaboratively resolve conflicts.

4. Confidentiality & Data Security

As a digital agency, we handle sensitive client data, proprietary code, and strategic information. Protecting this information is non-negotiable.

  • Never share client credentials, source code, or project files outside authorized systems.
  • Follow password policies, MFA requirements, and device encryption standards.
  • Report lost devices or suspected data breaches immediately to IT Security.
  • Respect NDAs and intellectual property agreements governing all engagements.

Reminder: Unauthorized disclosure of confidential information may result in immediate termination and legal action.

5. Anti-Discrimination & Harassment Policy

That Is A Q maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward discrimination, harassment, or retaliation based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.

Prohibited Conduct Includes

  • Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for favors, or verbal/physical conduct of a sexual nature.
  • Slurs, jokes, or comments that demean or stereotype individuals or groups.
  • Retaliation against anyone who reports concerns or participates in an investigation.
  • Quid pro quo arrangements related to compensation, promotion, or project assignments.

6. Reporting & Resolution Process

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this policy, you are encouraged to report it promptly. We guarantee confidentiality and protect against retaliation.

Reporting Channels

  • Direct Manager or HR Partner: For initial concerns or informal resolution.
  • People & Culture Team: people@thatisaq.com or internal HR portal.
  • Anonymous Ethics Hotline: Available 24/7 via our internal compliance platform.

All reports are taken seriously. Investigations are conducted fairly, thoroughly, and with appropriate discretion. Outcomes may include coaching, policy retraining, suspension, or termination, depending on severity.

7. Compliance & Accountability

Adherence to this Workplace Conduct policy is a condition of employment. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination.

  • This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect legal requirements and organizational growth.
  • Employees are responsible for familiarizing themselves with policy updates.
  • Managers are accountable for modeling expected behaviors and addressing violations promptly.
