1 Our Commitment to Accuracy

Aevum News holds itself to the highest standards of journalistic accuracy. We understand that errors can occur even in the most rigorous editorial processes, and we are fully committed to correcting them promptly and transparently.

When we make a mistake, we correct it openly. We do not hide corrections, bury them in footnotes, or remove them quietly. Our readers deserve to know when and how we have been wrong — and what we have done to ensure it does not happen again.

2 Types of Corrections

Aevum News recognizes and applies corrections at three levels of severity, each with corresponding editorial protocols:

• Minor Corrections: Typos, factual details (names, dates, titles), and grammatical errors that do not affect the substance or meaning of a story. These are corrected silently in digital articles without public notation.
• Substantive Corrections: Errors in facts, data, quotes, or context that alter the understanding of a story but do not change its fundamental conclusion. These are corrected with an editor's note at the top of the article, dated and signed.
• Major Corrections: Errors that significantly change the meaning of a story, involve misattributed claims, or affect the validity of conclusions. These are corrected with a prominent editor's note, and in many cases, a follow-up article clarifying the correction is published.

3 How to Report an Error

If you believe we have made an error in our reporting, we welcome your feedback. Here are the ways you can reach us:

1. Corrections Form: Use our dedicated corrections submission form below. Provide as much detail as possible, including the article URL, the specific error, and any supporting evidence.
2. Email: Send corrections to corrections@aevumnews.com. Please include "Correction" in the subject line.
3. On-Article Link: Every article on Aevum News includes a "Report an Error" link at the bottom of the page that directs you to our corrections form pre-populated with that article's information.
4. Social Media: You may also alert our editorial team via our verified social media accounts. While we monitor all channels, the corrections form or email ensures the fastest response.

Not every suggested change qualifies as a correction under our policy. Valid corrections include:

• Factual Errors: Incorrect dates, numbers, names, locations, titles, or statistics.
• Misattributed Quotes: Quotes attributed to the wrong person or taken out of context in a way that changes meaning.
• Incorrect Headlines: Headlines that materially misrepresent the content of the article.
• Outdated Information: Facts that have changed since publication without update (e.g., election results, court rulings, market data).
• Image Errors: Photos or captions that misidentify people, places, or events.
• Source Errors: Incorrectly cited sources or references that cannot be located.

Aevum News maintains a public corrections log that lists every substantive and major correction published. This log is accessible from our homepage footer under "Corrections Log" and includes:

• The original article title and URL
• The date of the correction
• A description of the error made
• The corrected information
• The name of the editor who authorized the correction

We believe that public accountability is essential to credible journalism. Every correction strengthens our relationship with our readers by demonstrating that we take accuracy seriously.

7 Legal and Ethical Considerations

When corrections involve legal sensitivity — including claims of defamation, invasion of privacy, or copyright issues — our corrections process works alongside our legal team to ensure that all parties' rights are respected.
