1. General Rules
All participants in ChessMaster Forum tournaments must adhere to these regulations. By registering for any event, players acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with all rules outlined in this document.
- Players must be registered members with a verified account.
- Registration closes 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Late arrivals after round pairing is finalized will result in automatic forfeit for that round.
- Players must keep their webcam and microphone active if required by the event tier.
- Organizers reserve the right to adjust rules based on exceptional circumstances.
2. Tournament Formats
ChessMaster hosts multiple formats to suit different skill levels and scheduling preferences.

Tiebreaks are calculated using: 1) Direct encounter, 2) Buchholz score, 3) Performance rating, 4) Total score.
3. Time Controls & Increments
All games are played under digital time controls with optional increments. The following standards apply:
- Blitz: 3+2, 5+0, or 5+3
- Rapid: 10+5, 15+10
- Classical: 30+20 or 45+15
4. Fair Play & Anti-Cheat
ChessMaster Forum maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward cheating. Our integrity systems use multi-layered detection.
Prohibited Actions
- Use of chess engines, AI assistants, or external analysis tools during games.
- Consulting opening books or databases in real-time beyond standard preparation.
- Account sharing, proxy playing, or enlisting outside assistance.
- Intentional drawing of games to manipulate ratings or standings.
- Exploiting platform bugs or reporting systems maliciously.
Our system monitors: move accuracy correlation, response time patterns, opening deviation, and behavioral metadata. Appeals are handled strictly per Section 6.
5. Penalties & Sanctions
Violations are addressed proportionally based on severity and prior history.

Prize money awarded to suspended players will be redistributed to eligible finishers or returned to the prize pool per event terms.
6. Appeals Process
Players who believe a penalty was applied in error may submit a formal appeal within 72 hours of notification.
- Submit an appeal via Support Portal with all relevant PGNs, logs, and evidence.
- Integrity team reviews submissions within 5–7 business days.
- Decisions are final. In exceptional cases, a third-party FIDE arbiter may be consulted.
- Falsified evidence in an appeal results in immediate escalation to severe sanctions.
7. Code of Conduct
Sportsmanship and respect are foundational to ChessMaster Forum. Players are expected to:
- Shake hands (virtually or in-person) and say "Good Game" regardless of result.
- Refrain from taunting, insulting, or harassing opponents or spectators.
- Keep chat and voice channels free of spam, hate speech, or off-topic promotion.
- Report technical issues or rule breaches promptly via in-game flags.
- Accept arbitral decisions gracefully and through proper channels.
Violations of conduct standards will be logged and may impact tournament eligibility, coaching privileges, and community standing.
