Information We Collect

Last Updated:

At CloudNexus, we are committed to transparency and protecting your data. This page outlines the types of information we collect when you use our cloud infrastructure, hosting services, or interact with our platform. We collect only what is necessary to deliver, secure, and improve our services.

What Information We Collect

Account & Registration Data

When you create an account or request a demo, we collect your name, email address, company name, job title, and phone number. This allows us to provision your account, manage billing, and provide technical support.

Infrastructure & Usage Data

To ensure reliable hosting and cloud performance, we automatically collect:

  • Server resource metrics (CPU, RAM, disk I/O, bandwidth)
  • API request logs, endpoint usage, and rate limits
  • Deployment timestamps, instance IDs, and region routing data
  • Network traffic patterns and DNS resolution logs

Note: We never access or store your application-level data, user content, or database contents unless explicitly required for a security incident or support request with your consent.

Payment & Billing Information

We collect payment method details to process subscriptions and overage charges. CloudNexus does not store full credit card numbers. All payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant third-party providers. We retain only the last four digits and expiration date for billing reference.

Technical & Device Data

When you access our console, documentation, or APIs, we collect standard technical identifiers including IP address, browser type, operating system, device model, and referring URLs. This helps us maintain platform security and optimize the developer experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected data strictly for operational and service-related purposes:

  • Service Provisioning: Deploying and managing your cloud resources, VPS instances, databases, and CDN configurations.
  • Security & Compliance: Detecting anomalies, preventing DDoS attacks, enforcing access controls, and maintaining SOC 2 / ISO 27001 compliance.
  • Billing & Invoicing: Generating usage reports, processing payments, and issuing tax receipts.
  • Support & Communication: Responding to tickets, sending service alerts, maintenance windows, and critical security patches.
  • Product Improvement: Aggregating anonymized usage patterns to optimize performance, add new regions, and enhance developer tooling.

Data Protection & Security

CloudNexus employs enterprise-grade security measures to protect your data across our global infrastructure:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3
  • Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
  • Strict role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) for internal systems
  • Continuous vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and automated patch management
  • Regular third-party audits and compliance certifications (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR)

In the event of a security incident that may affect your data, we are committed to prompt notification in accordance with applicable regulations.

Third-Party Sharing & Disclosures

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only when necessary to:

  • Service Providers: Payment processors, email delivery services, analytics platforms, and backup storage partners (all bound by strict data processing agreements).
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CloudNexus, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as a business asset, with continued obligation to honor this policy.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or update your personal information
  • Request a portable copy of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
