Community Guidelines

ConnectHub is built for authentic connection, creative expression, and meaningful community. These guidelines help us keep the platform safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone.

Last Updated: March 15, 2025

Welcome & Purpose

ConnectHub brings together millions of creators, communities, and everyday people to share, discover, and connect. To maintain a healthy environment, we ask all users to follow these community guidelines.

These rules are not meant to limit free expression, but to protect users from harm, harassment, and malicious activity. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent removal from the platform.

Our Commitment: We continuously improve our safety systems and moderation policies. Transparency, fairness, and user safety guide every decision we make.

Core Principles

Every action on ConnectHub should align with these foundational values:

  • Respect: Treat others with dignity, regardless of background, identity, or opinion.
  • Authenticity: Be genuine in your interactions. Avoid fake accounts, impersonation, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
  • Safety: Prioritize the well-being of yourself and others. Report harmful content and avoid sharing dangerous challenges or misinformation.
  • Accountability: Take responsibility for your posts, comments, and interactions. Community trust is built on consistent, positive behavior.

Content Standards

We encourage creative, educational, and constructive content. Below are clear boundaries for what is allowed and what is strictly prohibited.

✅ Allowed & Encouraged

  • Original photos, videos, art, and music
  • Constructive discussions and debates
  • Educational content and skill-sharing
  • Positive community-building and support groups
  • Transparent sponsored or promotional content (properly labeled)

🚫 Strictly Prohibited

  • Hate speech, discrimination, or dehumanization
  • Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse
  • Sexually explicit content or non-consensual intimate media
  • Violent extremism, terrorism, or graphic gore
  • Deliberate misinformation (health, elections, public safety)
  • Spam, scams, phishing, or malicious links
  • Child sexual exploitation or endangerment (zero tolerance)
  • Infringing content (copyright/trademark violations)

⚠️ Context & Nuance

Some content may be allowed with restrictions or age-gating. We evaluate context, intent, and platform-wide impact. Educational, artistic, or news-related content depicting sensitive topics may be permitted with proper labeling and warnings.

Moderation & Enforcement

ConnectHub uses a combination of AI detection, human review, and community reporting to enforce these guidelines. Enforcement actions are proportional to the severity and frequency of violations.

  1. Warning: Minor or first-time violations result in a strike and content removal.
  2. Temporary Restriction: Repeated offenses lead to account suspension (3-30 days).
  3. Permanent Removal: Severe, repeated, or zero-tolerance violations result in permanent bans.
  4. Platform-wide Action: Coordinated harassment, large-scale spam, or illegal activity may trigger immediate suspension pending investigation.

All moderation decisions are logged and can be reviewed through our appeals system. We strive for consistency, but context matters.

Reporting & Safety

Your safety matters. If you encounter harmful, suspicious, or illegal content, report it immediately using the in-app reporting tools.

How to Report: Tap the ••• menu on any post, comment, or profile → Select "Report" → Choose the reason → Submit. You can anonymously report content without the user knowing.

Our Trust & Safety team reviews reports within 24-48 hours for standard cases, and within 1 hour for urgent safety threats. We never share your identity with the reported party.

  • 📧 Email: safety@connecthub.io
  • 🆘 Emergency: Report illegal activity involving minors or imminent harm directly to local authorities
  • 🔒 Privacy: We comply with legal requests but prioritize user confidentiality

Appeals Process

If you believe your content was removed or your account was restricted in error, you can submit an appeal.

  1. Navigate to the notification or email informing you of the action.
  2. Click "Request Review" within 30 days of the action.
  3. Provide context, supporting evidence, or clarify misunderstandings.
  4. A senior moderator will review your case and respond within 5 business days.

We do not guarantee reinstatement, but we guarantee a fair, human-reviewed evaluation of every appeal.
