Push notifications experienced intermittent delays of up to 60 seconds affecting approximately 2% of users. The issue was caused by a scaling bottleneck in the message queue infrastructure. A hotfix was deployed at 14:32 UTC and full service restoration was confirmed by 14:45 UTC. No data was lost during the incident.
API response times increased to ~800ms (normal: ~120ms) for the /v2/feed endpoint. Root cause was traced to a database connection pool exhaustion during peak traffic. Connection pool limits were increased and a new auto-scaling policy was implemented. Full restoration achieved by 10:03 UTC.
PostgreSQL 17 upgrade completed successfully. Maintenance window was 22:00–23:30 UTC with 4 minutes of read-only downtime. All replicas were upgraded in rolling fashion. Post-upgrade performance benchmarks show a 15% improvement in query speeds.
A cache invalidation rule malfunction caused repeated cache purges for static assets, resulting in increased origin load for approximately 35 minutes. The CDN configuration was corrected and a rollback of the problematic rule was applied. Full stability restored by 17:00 UTC.
Monitoring detected a brief spike in 5xx errors on the authentication service (0.3% error rate). The team is investigating the root cause. All services remain operational and no user-facing impact has been confirmed. Updates will be provided within the next 2 hours.
