Emergency Procedures

IronForge Fitness maintains the highest safety standards for all members and staff. Familiarize yourself with these procedures to ensure a swift and safe response in any emergency situation.

🚨

In Case of Emergency

Press the emergency alarm button at any staff station or call (555) 123-4567 immediately. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911 first.

🔥

Fire Emergency Procedures

Follow these steps in the event of a fire alarm or visible fire

1
🔔

Stay Calm & Alert Others

Remain calm. Alert nearby members and staff by shouting "Fire!" and activate the nearest fire alarm pull station if you discover the fire.

2
📞

Call 911

If it is safe to do so, call 911 immediately. Provide the exact address: 123 Forge Avenue, New York, NY 10001, and your location inside the facility.

3
🚪

Evacuate Immediately

Use the nearest emergency exit. Do NOT use elevators. Walk quickly but do not run. Keep doors closed behind you to slow the spread of fire.

4
🧯

Use Fire Extinguisher (Only If Safe)

Only attempt to use a fire extinguisher if the fire is small (trash-can size), you have a clear escape route, and you are trained to do so. Remember PASS: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep.

5
📋

Stop at Assembly Point

Proceed to the designated assembly point: Parking Lot B (East Side). Staff will conduct a headcount. Do not re-enter the building until cleared by fire officials.

6
👥

Assist Those in Need

If safe, assist members with mobility issues. Direct people to exits. Do not stop to collect personal belongings under any circumstances.

🏥

Medical Emergency Procedures

Steps to follow for injuries, cardiac events, or medical distress on-site

1
👀

Assess the Situation

Check if the person is conscious and breathing. Do not move them unless there is immediate danger. Call for staff assistance by shouting for help.

2
🚨

Notify Staff & Call 911

Alert the nearest staff member immediately. For cardiac arrest, severe bleeding, unconsciousness, or difficulty breathing, call 911 right away.

3
🩺

Retrieve AED & First Aid Kit

Staff will retrieve the nearest AED (Defibrillator) and first aid kit. AED locations are marked throughout the facility (see map below). Begin CPR if trained.

4
❤️

Follow AED Instructions

If the person is unresponsive and not breathing normally, use the AED immediately. The device will guide you with voice prompts. Continue until EMS arrives.

5
🚑

Wait for Emergency Services

Keep the area clear for EMS. A staff member will guide paramedics to the location. Provide any relevant medical information if known.

6
📝

Incident Documentation

After the incident, staff will complete an incident report. Affected members will be contacted for follow-up. All details are kept confidential.

Severe Weather & Natural Disaster

Procedures for hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, and power outages

1
📻

Monitor Alerts

Pay attention to PA announcements, text alerts, and emergency broadcast systems. Staff will communicate real-time updates via the gym's announcement system.

2
🏠

Tornado / Earthquake

DROP, COVER, AND HOLD ON. Move away from windows and heavy equipment. Take cover under sturdy structures. Stay low and protect your head.

3
🌀

Hurricane / Severe Storm

Move to interior areas away from glass windows. Staff will direct members to safe zones. The facility may close early — monitor alerts for updates.

4

Power Outage

Emergency lighting will activate automatically. Staff will guide members to exits using flashlights. Do NOT attempt to leave through dark areas without guidance.

🛡️

Security Incident Procedures

Active threat, intruder, or security breach response protocols

1
🔒

Lockdown Protocol

If an active threat is announced via PA or staff alert: immediately move to the nearest secure room, lock the door, turn off lights, and stay silent.

2
📱

Silence Your Phone

Turn off ringtones and vibrate mode. If possible, text 911 (available in many areas) rather than calling to avoid giving away your position.

3
🚫

Do Not Confront

Never attempt to confront or engage a threat. Your safety is the priority. Follow the RUN-HIDE-FIGHT principle only if absolutely necessary.

4
