Found this gem in the sector-7 crawl logs. Full HTML + attached images preserved. Note the classic table layout, tiled background, and autolooping MIDI. Does anyone remember which WebRing network this was part of?

Holy shit, that's the original "Under Construction" gif with the little guys. I used that exact template for my 5th grade science fair project. The WebRing was definitely "Sci-Fi & Fantasy Lovers" - we had like 14 sites linked together before the whole thing got migrated to Tripod in '99.

Just ran it in the renderer. The cursor trail script crashes IE5 but works fine in the archive emulator. Nostalgia level: critical. Where's the hit counter image? Usually they had a "You are visitor #004821" animated gif in the footer.
Compiled a tarball of working Perl/CGI scripts that powered 90s guestbooks, visitor counters, and simple search forms. All tested on the archive's CGI execution sandbox. Requires a basic Apache setup or our docker container.
