13. Changes to Terms
13.1 Our Right to Modify
Automotive DIY reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to modify, replace, or update these Terms of Service ("Terms") at any time. Changes may be made to reflect updates to our platform, tools, educational content, community guidelines, e-commerce offerings, or applicable laws and regulations.
13.2 Notification of Changes
We are committed to transparency. When material changes are made to these Terms, we will notify you through one or more of the following methods:
- Posting a prominent notice on our homepage and dashboard for at least 30 days prior to the effective date
- Sending an email to the address associated with your Automotive DIY account
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
- Providing an in-app or email notification for account-holding members
For non-material changes (such as grammatical corrections, structural reorganization, or minor clarifications), we may not provide separate notice, but the updated Terms will remain accessible via the link in our footer and navigation.
⚠️ Important: It is your responsibility to periodically review these Terms to stay informed of updates. Your continued use of Automotive DIY's website, tools, guides, or marketplace after any changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13.3 Effective Date & Acceptance
Any modifications to these Terms will become effective on the date specified within the amendment, or 30 days after the effective notice date, whichever is later. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must discontinue use of our services and, if applicable, cancel any active subscriptions or memberships prior to the effective date.
For paid services (including Video Academy subscriptions, tool rental accounts, or premium diagnostic tools), failure to accept material changes that affect the core service may result in account suspension or termination, with any unused prepaid portions refunded in accordance with our Refund Policy.
13.4 Material vs. Non-Material Changes
Material changes include, but are not limited to:
- Modifications to your rights or obligations under these Terms
- Changes to pricing, subscription structures, or payment terms
- Alterations to intellectual property licensing for user-generated content or DIY guides
- Updates to dispute resolution, arbitration, or jurisdiction clauses
Non-material changes include editorial corrections, formatting updates, hyperlink maintenance, or clarifications that do not substantively alter your rights or our obligations.
13.5 Your Responsibilities
By using Automotive DIY's platform, you acknowledge that:
- You have read and understood the current Terms before engaging with our content, tools, or marketplace
- You are responsible for reviewing updates, especially if you maintain an active account or recurring subscription
- Continued access to our site, community forums, or paid services implies ongoing consent to the then-current Terms
