Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an essential extra layer of security to your RaiseIt account. When enabled, you'll need to verify your identity with a second method (like an authenticator app) in addition to your password whenever you sign in from a new device.
Prerequisites
- A mobile device with an authenticator app installed (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator)
- Access to your RaiseIt account and email
- A stable internet connection
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Log in to your RaiseIt account using your email and password. Navigate to your account dashboard by clicking your profile icon in the top-right corner.
-
Go to Security Settings. In the left sidebar, click Settings → Security & Privacy. You'll see an option labeled Two-Factor Authentication with a toggle switch.
-
Scan the QR code. Toggle 2FA on. A QR code and a backup setup key will appear. Open your authenticator app, tap Add Account → Scan QR Code, and point your camera at the screen.
-
Enter the verification code. Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit code that refreshes every 30 seconds. Type this code into the RaiseIt input field and click Verify.
-
Save your backup codes. For your safety, generate and securely store 10 backup recovery codes. Download them or save them in a password manager. These are your only way to recover your account if you lose your phone.
Troubleshooting
Can't scan the QR code?
Tap "Can't scan? Enter code manually" below the QR code. Copy the 16-character setup key and paste it into your authenticator app's manual entry field.
Lost your authenticator device?
Use one of your saved backup codes to sign in. Once logged in, immediately regenerate a new QR code and backup set in Settings → Security.
