Preparation & Setup
Before touching a wrench, set your workspace properly:
- Park on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and chock the rear wheels.
- Lift the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Remove wheels as needed for easier access to caliper bleeders.
- Clean the area around each bleeder valve with brake cleaner or a damp rag. Dirt entering the system can ruin calipers or ABS modules.
- Remove the master cylinder reservoir cap. Top it off with fresh brake fluid. Keep a small funnel or brake fluid reservoir caddy on top to monitor levels easily.

Step-by-Step: One-Person Bleeding Process
Modern vehicles typically bleed in a sequence from farthest wheel to closest to the master cylinder: Right Rear β Left Rear β Right Front β Left Front. Always verify with your service manual, as some vehicles differ.
Attach the One-Way Bottle
Connect the clear hose from your one-way valve bottle to the bleeder valve. Ensure the connection is tight. The one-way valve only allows fluid/air to flow out, preventing air from being sucked back in when you release the pedal.
Open the Bleeder Valve
Using your wrench, crack the bleeder valve open about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. You should see fluid (and possibly air bubbles) begin flowing into the bottle through the clear hose.

Move to Next Wheel

Final Check & Test
Once all four wheels are complete, top off the reservoir to the MAX line. Replace the cap. Pump the brake pedal 10-15 times with the engine off. The pedal should feel firm and consistent. Start the engine, let it idle for 30 seconds, and press the pedal again. It should not sink.
