Our Heritage
Three Generations of Cacao Excellence
Founded in 1987 by the Delacroix family in the misty highlands of Ecuador, Terroir Cocoa began as a small family plot of 50 cacao trees. Today, our estate spans over 200 acres of carefully cultivated cacao groves.
We believe the finest chocolate starts in the soil. Our volcanic terroir, combined with traditional farming methods, produces beans with complexity and depth unmatched in the world.

"I've sourced chocolate worldwide, and Terroir Cocoa stands in a league of its own. The Single Estate Reserve is a work of art."
From a small family plot in Ecuador to one of the world's most respected single-origin chocolate farms.
The Beginning
Where It All Began
In 1987, Roberto Delacroix left the city and purchased 50 acres of lush land in Ecuador's Napo Valley. With only 50 cacao trees and a dream, he began cultivating what would become Terroir Cocoa.
Roberto believed that extraordinary chocolate could only come from extraordinary care β from the soil to the final bar. His philosophy of patience, quality, and respect for the land became the foundation of everything we do today.
Today, his daughter Elena and grandson Mateo continue the family tradition, expanding the farm to 200 acres while maintaining the same meticulous attention to detail that Roberto instilled.
